Harassment at workplace: 16-yr-old girl commits suicide

Hyderabad: A teenage girl committed suicide after alleged harassment at workplace under Neredmet police station limits on Tuesday night. The police found a suicide note blaming the management of the private firm and registered a case.

P Naomi, the breadwinner of the family has been working as a child labour for the past 3-yrs at Polytech Collectronics in Neredmet. She was a resident of Moghal Colony of the locality and was a native of Siddipet.

In her suicide note, she blamed the woman working as the production manager and allegedly harassed her over her inefficiency.

The girl’s relatives tried to convince the production manager with regard to the girl’s work. But there was no change in the conditions.

The Balala Hakkula Sangham has demanded an inquiry into her death and questioned as to how the management of a private firm employed the minor. The police booked a case under sections 305 of IPC (abetment of suicide of child) and started investigation.
