While the festive season has just begun, smartphone brands have been trying hard to market their product in the best possible way. However, now, joining the group is Asus which has announced a price drop for its December- 2016 launched Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 (ZC553KL) smartphone. At the time of launch, the smartphone was priced at Rs 17,999 which was later dropped to Rs 14,999. Now, the company has offered a price cut of Rs 2,000 on the product. Hence, the revised price stands at Rs 12,999.


Asus says that the price reduction will be across all major e-commerce sites like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and leading retail stores including Asus Exclusive Stores across India.

The talking point of the smartphone is said to be the 4,100mAh battery that the company says comes with super saving mode and reverse charging support. The reverse charging feature allows one to use the smartphone as a power bank to charge other devices. Asus claims that the battery can survive up to 38 days of standby time on 4G, 17 hours of talk time on 3G, and up to 19 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi.

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch display full HD with a 2.5D contoured glass on top. Under the hood runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. On the photography front, the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, five-prism lens, and offers features such as laser autofocus, PDAF, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and dual-tone flash. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports USB OTG, dual-SIM, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1. It comes with a rear fingerprint sensor. On the software front, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max 5.5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ZenUI 3.0 layered atop.
